more on IAN

It has been a long week of Birthday Festivities for Ian. WE had a great friends B-day and also a Family B-day celebration on his actual Birthday. My Mom made the best Cake in the world. Homemade Fruit Cake. We also had the most amazing fruit shakes (Bulgarian Style) in our smoothie maker. We make ours with Plain Yogurt. We also eat plain yogurt with almost every meal around here.
Now we are expecting SNOW on Sunday and one of the presents Ian got was a brand new LLBean Sled. SO LET IT SNOW!!!!!!

I LOVE EVERYTHING YOU CREATE IAN!!!!!!

NARNIA

Narnia-some of my MOST favorite books of ALL time. I Just LOVE these stories so much and since we just finished watching Prince Caspian with the kids I wanted to post these photos which I took while living in England few years ago. When Tal Eyre - my wonderful American brother came to visit us we all went to C.S.Lewis' house in Oxford (few blocks down from where we lived actually). Behind his house there is a HUGE forest with many hikes and paths to adventure where much of the inspiration for the Narnia stories began.

It rained for us of course and so the views were spectacular in full BLAST of GREEN.

These horse and the mist made it as though we WERE really in NARNIA.

Then we found this cool swing that Ad and Tal tried while I watched the two young boys of mine.

Tal and Ian below overlooking NARNIA.......

Real world before we went to Narnia. Ian is 2 and a half and London 6 months I think.

IT was awesome.... Ian said that the horse actually talked to him.

Tal on the Swing. Man we had so much FUN........ A MUST see place if you are in Oxford.

Always LOOKING for the GOOD

Kids are so good at that. They LOVE the good and want it with their whole hearts. And so do we in the grown up world.

I like the quote from Bambi where Thumper says what his mommy taught him:
If you can't say anything good don't say anything at all"
Looking, seeking and wanting the good is naturally in all of us. It is great that we can discover it DAILY!!!!

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

Growing up in what felt like the Dark Ages of Communist Bulgaria , I never really knew how bad it was, because of my parents.
They were always POSITIVE no matter how hard their circumstances were and I as the kid just lived in a family full of JOY.
I LOVE the Movie Life is Beautiful which reminds me greatly of the love and sacrifices my own parents made to make my childhood a wonderful hopeful experience. Yes it is true life can be hard sometimes but why only dwell on that? Why not look at life in a BRIGHTER light.
We are all to often so serious in this grown-up world.
I am continually being taught by my kids how important it is to live in the MOMENT and that it is OK to be SILLY and laugh and have a good sense of HUMOR.
While there are major catastrophes and events that warrant mourning, most of the little stuff we spend so much time fretting about can be turned around and looked in a positive way adding some humor to it all.
More often than not we get caught up in worry and gloom without thinking about much it. That doesn't mean though that we can't catch ourselves and turn our thinking around.
When I was in College and living with the AMAZING Richard and Linda Eyre, they taught me the great principle of REWIND.
If something is starting to go the wrong way and you want to change it and just start over, you rewind and replay with a different attitude or perspective. It 's a simple thing but it sure can do miracles.......

QUESTIONS!!!

I LOVE questions!!!!

I love to think of them at any time and any place. I always wonder about things and try to see them in a different way. Another angle, how about that?
Now I LOVE to hear my kids Questions coming at me at any time and any place. I seriously think that we learn by asking questions and it is so simple and fun to do it that way and not just being told something million times and hoping that it has been drilled into the child's system.
Questions are the HEART of Learning!!!!! Bring them on Kids.......
